Questions

What's a panel?

A saved map: its layers, places, clocks, and settings. With an account, make as many as you like, such as one for the office and one for the living room. Each display shows the panel you choose.

What's a display?

Any web browser that shows a panel: a television, a small computer on the wall, or a laptop tab. A television signs in at meridiem.earth/tv with a code that you approve from another device. One account covers all of your displays.

What's a layer?

One kind of data on the map, such as radar or coastlines. Stack layers in any order, and hide them without losing their settings. Some layers also let you change their style or color.

What's a view?

A close-up of any part of the world, such as the American West or Europe, framed the way you want it. Each panel can save as many views as you like, and you can switch between them at any time.

Can I center the map on my home?

Yes. By default, the map follows the sun to keep the day side in the middle. You can also center it on any place that you add.

Why the name Meridiem?

“Meridiem” is Latin for midday. It's the “m” in a.m. and p.m. The map's default view keeps the midday line centered, showing the rest of the day on each side of it.
